Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10/AET Level 5 to Grade 12. Your school report must have the school stamp and logo.
• At least 1 year of relevant food service work experience.
• Previous hospital food service experience will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
• Must be reliable, trustworthy and able to do physical work.
• Must be willing to work early/late shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key Duties

• Assist with routine tasks in the Food Service Unit.
• Help with preparation for normal and therapeutic diets.
• Cook and dish meals according to patient dietary requirements.
• Wash pots, plates, utensils, equipment, drains, fridges, freezer rooms and store areas.
• Unpack and pack provisions into fridges, freezers and storage areas.
• Follow Food Service policies, hygiene rules and safety standards.
